How does this work?
How does the medication work?
These medications (Saxenda, Ozempic, Wegovy, Rybelsus, Mounjaro and Trulicity) all work in the same 3 ways.
The medication mimics a natural hormone already found in your body (GLP-1) to reduce your appetite.
-
It regulates the key hunger hormone GLP-1, effectively reducing your appetite.
-
It slows down the gastric emptying process, meaning that your body takes longer to process food and it is fuller for longer. This means your body does not need as much intake as normal as it works off the food it has.
-
The medication helps to speed up your metabolism by helping the liver utilise an enzyme to break down glycogen in a safe and controlled method; and stimulating the release of insulin to break down sugars effectively for your own body's needs without causing a sugar-crash. This avoids the urges for quick-fix sugary foods.
This all helps to reduce the risk of the so-called "starvation mode" and other side effects like ketoacidosis, as you will be burning off a mixture of stored carbs & fats.
Unlike fad diets which tend to starve the body when it's shouting out for food, the medication reduces your body's desire to get more food, which makes it easier to make healthier choices and to reduce calories.
This means that when you stop using the medication, the body isn't desperate for sustenance and therefore, you won't suddenly begin storing fat and gain all the weight back. Ironically, it's a more natural way to lose the weight and keep it off.
How much can I expect to lose?
Over the 28 days, the average weight loss has been calculated as 13.7lbs. Everyone is different, so your weight loss may be more (one client experienced 19lbs in their first 3 weeks) or it could be less (with some losing 6lbs in 3 weeks). Try not to compare yourself to others losing weight - focus on yourself, your goals and your progress. Every person is different.
With over 5000 clients losing weight with Ozempic in the injection form, we are very confident it will work for you.
How do I start the programme?
There are three simple steps:
-
Screening: we send you a health screening form by email to ensure your safety & suitability.
-
Consultation: if all is well, we conduct a telephone consultation.
-
Get the medication: if you are happy to go ahead, payment is made & the pen is dispatched to you.
During the consultation, we assess your medical history, explore your eating habits & exercise levels.
We then discuss how to take the medication & you will get the opportunity to ask any questions.
We will invoice you via a secure payment provider so you can pay securely online. Once payment is received, your item will be dispatched for next working day delivery if ordered by 1pm.
Where can I get this from?
This is a prescription-only medication and must be prescribed by a qualified prescriber following an online consultation. Your full medical history and circumstances should be taken into account to ensure safety & suitability.
PLEASE NOTE: Some of these medications ARE NOT YET LICENSED FOR WEIGHT LOSS.
Our pharmacy partners only source the medication from within the UK from licensed wholesalers, who source the medication directly from the manufacturer.
Who is it suitable for?
The medication is suitable for the vast majority of people. Our advisors will assess you on an individual basis, taking into account your medical history, current situation & any medication you may already be taking.
We look at several factors to ensure suitability, including:
-
Your BMI
-
Your medical history
-
Your current medication
-
Body measurements
-
Current diet & eating habits
-
Current exercise levels
-
Other methods you have already tried
-
and more
The programme is NOT suitable for:
-
Under 18's
-
Ladies who are breastfeeding or pregnant or actively trying to get pregnant.
-
Anyone who has had pancreatitis or thyroid tumours
-
Type 1 diabetics or patients taking diabetic medication
Can I drink alcohol whilst on the programme?
Although alcohol does not directly interact with the medication, we do advise people to avoid alcohol if possible. If you do have a drink whilst using the pen, do not drink on an empty stomach & limit it to 1 small glass of wine or one 25ml spirit with a light mixer. Alcohol is also empty calories and may reduce the potential achievable weight loss.
What are the potential side effects?
Like any medication, there are the risks of side effects. The most common side effects are transient - this means that they only last for a couple of days whilst your body adjusts to the medication. 65% of clients experience no side effects, whilst others experience one or two mild side effects.
The most common side effects are:
-
Dry mouth
-
Headache
-
Nausea
-
Diarrhea
-
Constipation
-
Tiredness
Our advisor will advise you on how to deal with any side effects you may experience whilst you will be provided with an aftercare leaflet on how to deal with the most common side effects. You also receive a Patient Information Leaflet detailing the ins & outs of the medication.
What kind of after care can I expect?
The aftercare literature is available from our new partner (AJ Hill Aesthetics), covering the medication & how to deal with potential side effects. They will follow you up via email. Their team is available 7 days a week via email.
Is it safe?
Absolutely. The medication is 100% genuine & has been used in clinical trials. It has been approved by NICE & the MHRA for diabetes, whilst Saxenda and Wegovy are fully licensed & approved for weight loss - even the NHS has approved its use! It is governed under UK & EU regulation by NICE, EMA & the MHRA. We only source our medication from UK based pharmacies to ensure you receive a genuine product from the manufacturer.
